Weddings at Fellowship

At Fellowship, we believe marriage is about far more than a wedding day. We cherish God’s design for marriage, and it is our joy to invest in healthy, Christ-centered marriages rather than simply performing wedding ceremonies. Our desire is to walk alongside couples as they pursue a lifelong, God-honoring union that glorifies Christ and reflects His faithful love to the world.

Jesus said the following regarding marriage: “‘For this reason, a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” Mark 10:7–9 (NIV)

As part of that process, we require:
1. Premarital counseling
Each couple must complete premarital counseling with Fellowship or with another licensed pastor or counselor. Learn more about our premarital options here: Premarital.
2. A pastoral conversation
Each couple is asked to meet with the pastor they wish to officiate their ceremony to engage in a meaningful conversation about their relationship. This conversation includes individual faith journeys, current living arrangements, previous marriages, and other details that help us shepherd them wisely and faithfully. Certain circumstances may affect the availability of Fellowship pastors to officiate a ceremony or the use of a Fellowship venue. This pastoral conversation helps address any issues or questions that may arise. Our deep desire is to invest in each couple and in their walk with Christ.

To speak with a pastor about this process, please visit our Staff Directory and email any member of our pastoral staff team.

Our Belief About Marriage

We believe that God established marriage as a lifelong, exclusive relationship between one man and one woman and that all intimate sexual activity outside the marriage relationship, whether heterosexual, homosexual, or otherwise, is immoral and therefore sin (Genesis 1:26–27; Genesis 2:24–25; Exodus 20:14, 17; Matthew 19:4–6, 9; Romans 1:18–31; 1 Corinthians 6:9–10, 15–20; Jude 7). Marriage ceremonies conducted on Fellowship Bible Church premises or by Fellowship Bible Church staff should represent the establishment of this covenant relationship between two followers of Jesus Christ.

If couples desire to be married on one of our church campuses or would like a Fellowship pastor to officiate their wedding at another location, we ask them to walk through a simple pastoral process with us. This helps us care well for each couple as they build a relationship that goes far beyond the ceremony itself.

Hosting Your Wedding at Fellowship

Fellowship Venue Guidelines
Please note the following requirements for weddings hosted at Fellowship venues:

  • Worship services and ministry preparations take priority over all other events.
  • All wedding dates are tentative until approved by appropriate Fellowship staff.
  • Additional events, such as rehearsal dinners or receptions, may require additional fees.
  • Use of Fellowship venues is limited to Fellowship members, those in the process of becoming members, or active participants in Fellowship ministries, such as those involved in community groups or serving in some capacity.
  • Weddings hosted at a Fellowship venue must be coordinated by one of our trained wedding consultants, who will meet with each couple throughout the planning process and help guide communication, logistics, and expectations.
  • Only Fellowship pastoral staff and approved officiants may perform ceremonies on Fellowship campuses. Requests to use other officiants must be approved in advance by a Fellowship Congregational Leader.
  • To maintain a comfortable and welcoming environment for all, alcohol is not allowed on Fellowship premises.
  • Weddings conducted in Fellowship venues are considered services of worship. Therefore, all music, decorations, and attire should reflect spirit and reverence that is honoring to God.
  • Decorations, equipment, food, and personal items must be removed from buildings and are the responsibility of the wedding party immediately following the wedding or reception. Existing items in the venue may not be moved or removed without prior approval.
